JIHYUN KIM
Bio//
Jihyun Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1988. She earned a bachelor's and master's degree in composition in Seoul National University, studying composition with Prof. Shinuh Lee. She graduated from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where she studied with Prof. Don Freund and Prof. Aaron Travers. Her composed pieces were performed in Korea, Hong-Kong and USA.

This thesis focuses on the relationship between the text and music in Muricio Kagel's vocal music. His numerous vocal music pieces show diverse interrelation between text and the other elements such as phonetics, musical form, semantics and dramatic elements.
